Military activity on the territory of Belarus on October 14-20

Aviation activity, movements of the troops by rail and roads in Belarus.

During the week, an IL-76 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at Homiel airport. In addition, for the first time in 1.5 years, an An-124 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at Machulishchy airfield.

No other significant military activity was recorded.

Aviation activity

Aviation activity was recorded at Machulishchy, Lida, Baranavichy, Lipki airfields, at Homiel airport, etc. Flights of aircraft and helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force and Russian Aerospace Forces were recorded.

Belarusian Air Force

  • On October 15, 17-18, 20, flights of a fighter of the Belarusian Air Force along the southeastern and southern regions of Belarus were recorded at Baranavichy airfield.
  • On October 17, flights of two Mi-8 helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force along the western border of Belarus were recorded at Machulishchy airfield.

Russian Aerospace Forces

  • On October 17, an An-124 heavy transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at Machulishchy airfield from Ulyanovsk (Russia).
  • On October 19, an IL-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at Homiel airport from Moscow. The arrival of the plane was connected with the exchange of prisoners of war, which took place between Russia and Ukraine on October 18.

Railroad activity

  • On October 16, a military cargo train with equipment of the Belarusian Armed Forces was moving in Homiel (railway tracks along Kaaperatsiunaya street). It consisted of 2 self-propelled artillery units and freight cars.

Movements by road

  • Single vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces were spotted in Mazyr and Homiel district. The movements were related to the deployment of the anti-aircraft missile divizion of the 1530th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces at Mazyr (Bokau) and Ziabrauka airfields.
  • Single vehicles and small convoys (up to 10 pieces) of the Belarusian Armed Forces were spotted in Yelsk, Mazyr, and on some sections of the М1 and others highways.

Separately, we can mention a march of the 7th Separate Tank Battalion of the 11th Mechanized Brigade from the Hozhski training ground to the permanent deployment point on October 18-19.
