Military activity on the territory of Belarus on March 25-31
Aviation activity, movements of the troops by rail and roads in Belarus.
Due to the ongoing inspection of the Belarusian Armed Forces, as well as other combat training activities, active movements of military equipment and aviation flights continue.
Two military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived in Belarus. Flights of fighters and a reconnaissance aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces at Baranavichy airfield were also recorded.
Aviation activity
- Aviation activity was recorded at Machulishchy, Lida, Baranavichy, Babruisk airfields, and at Minsk National Airport. Flights of aircraft and helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force and Russian Aerospace Forces were recorded.
- On March 25, an An-12 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at Baranavichy airfield.
- On March 25, helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force flew from Machulishchy airfield to Pastavy. On March 26, 27 and 30, flights of helicopters in Ashmiany district were recorded.
- On March 25, an Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Belarusian Air Force flew from Machulishchy airfield to Kubinka airfield (Russia). On March 27, the aircraft returned to Belarus.
- On March 26, flights of fighters and a Su-24MR aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces were recorded at Baranavichy airfield.
- On March 29 and 30, helicopters of the 50th combined air base of the Belarusian Air Force were flying in the area of the western border of Belarus.
- On March 30, an An-12 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at Homiel airport from Russia.
Rail activity
- On March 25, a military cargo train with equipment of the 19th Mechanized Brigade arrived at Asipovichy-1 station. The unit was redeployed to the Asipovichski training ground as part of the combat readiness inspection.
- On March 30, a military cargo train with equipment of the 202nd Separate Mechanized Battalion of the 6th Mechanized Brigade arrived in Hrodna. The unit was retuning to the permanent deployment point after the field drills and the combat readiness inspection.
- On March 30, a military cargo train with equipment of the 350th and 841st Artillery Groups was being formed at Palonka station. The units are moving to the Asipovichski training ground to participate in a competition of the best artillery battery.
Movements by road
- Single vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces were repeatedly spotted in Mazyr and Mazyr district.
- Small convoys (up to 10 pieces), single vehicles, and large convoys (10+ pieces) of the Belarusian Armed Forces were spotted in Minsk, Mazyr, Homiel, Hrodna, Baranavichy, Dziatlava, Dziatlava district, Petrykau district, and on some sections of the М6, М7, М9, and other highways.
Combat training
Combat training activities with units of the Belarusian Armed Forces were conducted at the Hozhski, Lepelski, Brestski, Barysauski, Obuz-Liasnouski, Losvida, Asipovichski, Damanava, Ruzhany, Maryina Horka, Lesishcha training grounds, at a facility of ‘Khrenin’s line’ (Zhabinka district), and in some areas (Ashmiany and Pastavy districts).
Changes in the size of the Russian Armed Forces group and PMC Wagner in Belarus: no data.
General conclusion on current situation
On March 30, an An-12 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at Homiel airport from Russia. It is possible that the arrival of the aircraft may be related to another rotation of the Russian contingent located at Ziabrauka and Mazyr (Bokau) airfields. Previously, we recorded the rotation of the Russian military in December 2023.
