Units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are moving to the area where the drills will be held

The drills could begin next week.

As previously reported, bilateral comprehensive drills in the Belarusian Armed Forces are scheduled for late September.

As part of preparations for the drills, on September 13-18, the following units moved to the area of the drills:

• Rocket artillery divizion (armed with Smerch MLRS) of the 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade. A convoy of the divizion left the permanent deployment point on September 13, and in the afternoon of September 18, it was detected on the M1 highway (intersection of the R11/M1 highways – Baranavichy).
• The 250th Separate Guard and Service Battalion of the Western Operational Command left the permanent deployment point in the evening of September 15.
• Heavy howitzer artillery divizion (armed with 152-mm 2A65 Msta-B howitzers) of the 51st Artillery Brigade left the permanent deployment point on September 15.
• The 4th Separate Tank Battalion of the 19th Mechanized Brigade arrived on September 16 at Verkhniadzvinsk station (Vitsiebsk region), 18 km from the border with Latvia. The unit was transferred to the border for a reason: the 19th Mechanized Brigade is part of the Northwestern Operational Command of the Belarusian Armed Forces, which is responsible for covering the northwestern border of Belarus.
• Units of the 74th Signal Regiment. A convoy of the regiment’s equipment started its march from the permanent deployment point in Hrodna in the morning of September 18. In the afternoon of the same day, it was spotted in the vicinity of Ruzhany, Brest region.
• Mortar battery of the 841st Artillery Group of the 11th Mechanized Brigade left the permanent deployment point in the morning of September 18.
• Anti-aircraft missile battery (armed with Osa-AKM SAM systems) of the 147th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment left the permanent deployment point in the morning of September 18.

In addition to the units mentioned above, the 6th and 120th Mechanized Brigades, the 50th Combined Air Base, and others will also take part in the drills. As we can see, the drills will involve units of the Western and Northwestern Operational Commands, as well as units of the central command.

Given the active movements of units to the area of the drills, we can expect them to start early next week.
