Belarusian volunteers

It is proposed to create a Belarusian battalion in the brigade of Hetman Ostrozky

One Belarusian battalion could be deployed on the territory of Poland.

The deputy commander of the Kalinouski Regiment, Vadzim Kabanchuk, suggested creating a Belarusian battalion in the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade named after the Great Hetman Konstantyn Ostrozky on the territory of Poland and Ukraine.

Kabanchuk noted that the Ostrozky Brigade was created, among other things, for informational purposes within the framework of the concept of the Baltic-Black Sea region, “and it lacks the Belarusian component.”

According to him, the creation of a Belarusian battalion within the Ostrozky Brigade would give an opportunity to formally institutionalize Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine, improve the quality of recruiting and the informational component of Belarus, which also lacks now.

In addition, Kabanchuk noted that there is a large number of Belarusians who are ready to serve in a Belarusian unit on condition of legal status on the territory of the EU. For this purpose, he said, one Belarusian battalion could be deployed on the territory of Poland.

“I’m sure, the deployment of another battalion on the territory of the European Union would provide Belarusian recruits, who would become the core of this brigade,” Kabanchuk believes.
