Drills with launches from the Osa-AKM SAM system are held at the training ground near Slonim
The Ministry of Defense of Belarus doesn't mention the location of the drills, but we know where it is.
Tactical drills of the 147th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment with live firing began under the leadership of the commander of the Western Operational Command of the Belarusian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
The 147th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment (military unit 96869, until December 1, 2017 — the 147th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade) is stationed in Babruisk and is part of the Western Operational Command of the Belarusian Armed Forces. In 2016, the regiment received the Osa-AKM SAM system.
During the drills, soldiers will conduct combat launches from the Osa-AKM SAM system, perform water crossing, and also perform tasks to counter enemy aviation and intensive use of UAVs. This is the final stage of the field drills.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus doesn’t mention where exactly these drills are held. According to Belarusian Hajun, they are held at the Chapialiova training ground of the 11th Mechanized Brigade (Slonim district).
Currently, field drills are also held with the following units of the Air Defense Forces:
- Anti-aircraft missile-artillery divizion of the 6th Mechanized Brigade;
- Anti-aircraft missile-artillery divizion of the 120th Mechanized Brigade (the 174th training ground of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces Damanauski);
- The 1st Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment;
- The 740th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.
